Intended Use

The Trichinella Antibody Rapid Test is a sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of anti-Trichinella spiralis antibodies in pig’s serum, plasma or whole blood specimen.

Principle

The test device has a test window. The testingwindow has an invisible T (test) zone and C (control)zone. When sample is applied into the sample holeon device, the liquid will laterally flow on the surfaceof the test strip. If there is enough detection of antiTrichinella antibodies in the sample, a visible T bandwill appear. The C band should always appear aftera sample is applied, indicating a valid result.

Storage and Stability

The kit can be stored at room temperature (4-30°C). The test kit is stable through the expiration date marked on the package label. DO NOT FREEZE. Do not store the test kit in direct sunlight.

Test Procedure

1. Collect pig’s fresh whole blood, serum or plasmaspecimen and immediately apply it for the testing.

2. Take out the test device from the foil pouch andplace it horizontally.

3. Place 1 drop (approx. 20μL) of serum or plasmaspecimen into an assay buffer tube. Mix well and useit in the test device.

4. Place 2-3 drops of assay buffer into the sample hole of the test device.

5. Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 10minutes is considered as invalid.

Results Interpretation

- Positive (+): The presence of both “C” line and zone“T” line, no matter if “T” line is clear or vague.- Negative (-): Only clear C line appears. No “T” line.- Invalid: No colored line appears in “C” zone. Nomatter if “T” line appears.

Precautions

- All reagents must be at room temperature beforerunning the assay.

- Do not remove test cassette from its pouch untilimmediately before use.

- Do not use the test beyond its expiration date.

- The components in this kit have been qualitycontrol tested as standard batch unit. Do not mixcomponents from different lot numbers.

- All specimens are of potential infection. It must betreated according to the local rules and regulations.

Limitations

Trichinella Antibody Rapid Test is for in vitro veterinary diagnosis use only. All results should be considered with other clinical information available from veterinarians. It is suggested to apply a further confirmative method when positive results are observed.
