Hygromycin B, Solution (50 mg/ml)

It is used for the selection and maintenance of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells that contain the hygromycin B resistance gene. Resistance to hygromycin B is conferred by the E. coli hygromycin B resistance gene (hyg or hph). Hygromycin B has a different mode of action than G-418 or Blasticidin S selection reagents, making it an excellent choice for dual-selection experiments.

Hygromycin B is used as a selection antibiotic in the concentration range of 200 – 500 µg/ml.

• Selection antibiotic
• Hygromycin B phosphotransferase inactivates hygromycin B
• Transfections with the hyg or hph gene are resistant to hygromycin B
• Transient and/or stable transfected cells
