Description

Chicken serum supplies proteins, hormones and nutrients that support cell growth and can substitute for fetal bovine serum in some applications. It is notably rich in vitamin B12–binding protein and has been used in radioisotope-dilution assays of serum vitamin B12. It also serves as a serum supplement in mycoplasma culture media.
